Oak class is home to 26 Year 3 and 4 children. We are unique, creative, hard working and inquisative. Using our learning powers all the time, helps us succeed. We like to have fun and be creative within our learning. Most importantly 'Kind people are our kind of people!'.
This term (Summer 2025) we are following CYCLE B of the curriculum. For more details, also see the 'Curriulum' section of the school website.
Things to remember:
- P.E. will be on Mondays and Fridays, children must come to school in their PE kit.
- Children need to bring their reading book and reading record into school everyday. Reading diaries are checked on Thursday to see if your child has done their strive for 5.
- Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct school uniform. Your child’s shoes should be a black school shoe/black trainer (no coloured trainers or coloured shoes). Jewellery is not allowed (except stud earrings) and girls should not come to school with nail varnish on.
- Please ensure that your child's uniform is labelled so it is easier to locate if something goes missing.
- Please ensure that your child has a water bottle in school everyday.
Homework
Children have many opportunities to practice and expand their learning at home. Each week children will be expected to
complete:
- Practise their times tables up to and including their 12’s
- Daily Reading
- Times Table Rockstars will help with any homework related to maths and also prepare your child for the statutory multiplication test at the end of Year 4. https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/student/31885
- Science and Foundation subject homework (Creative Choice)
Summer Term
We have an exciting and busy term ahead! On Tuesday 13th - Wednesday 14th we are going on a camping residential to Alderford Lake. We will be taking part in lots of activities such as kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing and bushcraft and sleeping over in bell tents. We are all very excited!
Our Year 4's have our Statutory Multiplication Test coming up this term. We have been working hard on our times tables all year in preparation for this.
We will also be going on a pedestrian road safety walk through the village with Miss Whyte and Miss Closel - it is important to be aware of the dangers of traffic on the road and how to cross the road safely.
