Welcome to Birch!
I am delighted to welcome you and your children to Birch Class for an exciting year ahead in Year 1. We are very lucky to have 19 enthusiastic learners in our class, each ready to build on their Reception experiences and take the next steps in their learning journey here at Malpas Alport.
In Year 1, our aim is to challenge ourselves, develop independence, and grow as confident learners who can also work well as part of a team. We will celebrate achievements big and small, encourage curiosity, and support one another as we work towards being the very best we can be.
Most importantly, we will have lots of fun while we learn—making every day enjoyable, engaging, and full of opportunities to explore and discover new things.
I am really looking forward to seeing the children flourish this year—developing new skills, exploring new ideas, and creating lots of wonderful memories together in Birch Class.
Please check the 'files' section to find extra Key Stage One helpful information.
Things to remember:
- P.E. will be on Thursdays and Fridays and the children must come to school in their PE kit.
- Children need to bring their reading record books and all resources into school everyday in their school bags.
- The children need their water bottles in school each day and also need to bring a healthy afternoon snack. Fridays are treat snacks!
