In Maple we have 19 wonderfully inquistive and enthusiastic children.  We love using our learning powers and making links between the things we learn.

English

In English, we will be reading Quest and creating some amazing poetry and narrative writing. We will be learning and developing a range of skills to expand our literacy knowledge further through story writing, non-chronological reports and descriptive writing.

Mathematics

The children will be revisiting their learning about number, place value, written and mental methods for all four operations moving from 1 digit numbers onto 2 digit numbers and introducing them to hundreds. They will also be looking at measurement, money, time and statistics. We will look at developing their reasoning strategies by exploring a range of problem solving questions. This helps deepen their understanding further and think of various approaches to their mathematical work.
